Stokes Nature Center

For our last summer park day we went to Stokes Nature Center. 

We had such a hectic summer schedule we only went to park day a few times this year. I am so glad we got to go to the last one. Brad didn't get to go with us this year. He got in trouble at home and had to stay home. I think it was harder on me than it was on him. Life lessons suck.

The small hike to the center is just right. The kids would run ahead then yell to the adults to hurry and catch up. 

We had to wait for it to open. The kids found a caterpillar to entertain them. That poor bug got mauled by many hands. 

Dex wasn't so sure.

Once we got inside the kids looked at the critters, and ran from exhibit to exhibit to touch and explore everything.

H loved this tee-pee. He even made me crawl inside with him.

At the end the worker pulled out the snake and let the kids touch it. 

Claire mother henned Hazel to death on the way back. I can't blame her. I want to smother her too. She is so cute. 

Since it was our last outing before school we took all the kids to Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch. It was so fun. We had such a fun summer with our neighborhood friends.
