Pre-Halloween Party- Carving Pumpkins

Carving pumpkins in this family has grown so big that we now have to do it the night before Halloween.

One of Tori's Halloween traditions is to make scones. Sounds great to me. We decided to turn it into dinner and have Navajo Tacos. Then of course scones for dessert.

The dedicated chefs.

Justin and Tamara's family joined us.

We ate 72 scones!!! Unbelievable.

Reagan loving it.

Gage giving me cheeser face which is very unlike him. He is at the "too cool age right now"

Aspen and Addie hanging out with Brad. Aspen told her mom the other day that she had a crush on Brad. Bradley is so oblivious. You could hit him with a brick and he still wouldn't notice. I have go to keep him that way until he gets home from his mission.

After dinner we headed to Todd's garage to carve pumpkins. He had this awesome propane heater to keep us all warm. It worked great.

The babies were so funny trying to help Tori. Harrison didn't want to touch any of the pumpkin guts. Reagan had no problem getting dirty. She loved it. she went from pumpkin to pumpkin helping clean them out.

Reagan finally got her own to dig into.

Matt convinced Harrison carve a pumpkin. Once he realized what he was making he was thrilled. He was quite proud of his.

Claire was very patient and precise. She did most of the carving herself.

Brad got bored and impatient with the delicate carving. He started over a few times. I eventually had to carve the rest of his. Next year I am going to make him do a Jack O Lantern face by himself.

While the men were busy carving their pumpkins Tori turned on Dance Party music. We couldn't help join her in her dance party. We danced around like idiots. It was a blast. Wyatt was hilarious. He wanted us to mimic his awesome dance moves.

Oh ya!! This went on for about 20 minutes. We had to work off all those scones we ate.

This year we didn't do too bad. I think we were finished by 10:00. In years past we have been up until midnight or 1:00 to get done.

  1. Let's get this straight... it was WYATT'S dance party. I did not start this craziness! The crazy dancer is Todd's son!
