Black and White Days 2014

Black and White days started out with a movie in the park Friday night. As soon as Claire's recital was over we hurried over to the park on the golf cart to watch Frozen.

Isn't this a great picture...Don't I look worn out and cold!!!

The next morning started early with the Cowabunga Race. Brad did the mile and got 12th place with all the adults. He was third place with the kids. He is finally growing into his long giraffe legs.

On Saturday Brad and Claire did Jump Rope with their school on the stage.

Walking around the booths.

My little H man is getting so big.

After naps and some serious yard-work we headed up to the parade.

The boys all lined up with the golf carts and 4 wheelers.

This year Brad wanted to watch the parade instead of be in it. We have lived here for 5 years and has never actually seen it. He has always been with the jump-rope group.

Reagan loved being in her cowgirl hat. It made her even more sassy.

As soon as the police turned on their sirens H started jumping up and down yelling "look beedos" (he calls police and ambulances beedos from Despicable Me)

Then it got really loud and the boys covered their ears.

This parade is known for the amount of candy thrown. There was so much I couldn't take pictures I was busy dodging flying candy. Lyndsee even got one stuck in her hair.

This was Claire's first year walking in the parade. She was so excited after watching Brad be in it for so long. She said it was a really long 2 miles.

After the parade we held our 3rd annual Black and White Days BBQ and corn hole competition. I almost forgot to pull out my camera because I was hosting...

Then I saw this cute little face and I had to have a picture. I have such a crush on Dex.

The Maxfields are new to our ward. They have a daughter Hazel that is adorable. She just had a baby boy Henry.

Justin wouldn't smile for my camera and I warned him I was putting him on my blog no matter what face he pulled.

Trish and Lesiel

Who knew that a dirt pit could entertain these kiddos for so long.

I think Brad and Shez polished off an entire bag of marshmallows.

Don't smile Tim!!!

Then Randy unveiled the coveted trophy. Matt and Randy spent all week making it (With a little sewing help from Jenni of course) . They were so proud of it. Todd was the reining champion from last year. Jon had to go to work and couldn't make it for the competition. We were bummed. He was the champ from our first year. Poor Trish...he displayed his trophy in their living room for a year.

Randy ended up winning. He was so excited. He has wanted to steal the title from Todd all year.

This has been such a fun tradition. I love where we live and I love all our dear friends.
