Spring break started out kind of slow. We wanted to take the kids camping but I couldn't get work off. The first part of the week we stayed in Richmond.
On Monday I went to the park with the kids. They didn't want to play on the playground, only the sand pit. They played there for hours. Brad ran around with Stetson Karen all day trying to catch birds. They were serious. It was funny watching them approach a bird just for it to fly away to their surprise.
The boys buried Claire in the sand. Claire sat there forever. She wanted to wait until Tori could come and see her buried.
I worked Tuesday night and the weather was cold and rainy. We read a lot of books and watched a lot of movies. We also found out that Grandpa Great has suffered a heart attack and would need open heart surgery. The kids were very upset and worried about him so I was looking forward to doing something fun to take their minds off of it.
Randy took Thursday and Friday off so we could at least play the rest of the weekend.
We took the kids to Jump Zone.
Brad worked really hard to flip around a full two turns. He was persistent and did it.
Claire liked playing dodge ball with the big kids.
H just loved every minute of it.
That night we got a pizza and had a movie night as a family.
The next morning we got up early and headed to Salt Lake City for the day.
The kids were so good on the drive down and were way excited that dad had 2 days off in a row.
Our first stop was the Museum of Natural History.
H wasn't sure about this huge centipede. It was cool and gross at the same time.
Dinosaur track. I think the last time we came here Brad fit in this footprint. He is growing like a weed.
H was nervous walking across the glass floor.
I am always so impressed at how big the dinosaur room is and how impressive the display is.
Digging for dinosaur bones.
Brad and Claire got to be engineers and construct a building that would withstand an earthquake. They loved this station. We stayed here for quite a while.
Trying to make a dam in the sand.
The weather patio overlooking Salt Lake.
Extreme animal exhibit.
After the museum we took the kids to Trolley Square Mall to eat at the Old Spaghetti Factory.
The kids were so excited to walk on the bridge that went over the street. We have nothing like this in Logan. I obviously grew up in a big city so things like this I take for granted. They literally thought it was so amazing. They made us promise that they would get to walk over it again on the way back to the car.
It was hard waiting. We were hungry and it smelled delicious.
Harrison has been obsessed with meatballs lately. When we told him he could have one he was ecstatic. He ate the whole thing.
We were laughing at how close his mouth was to the plate.
The balloons were a nice touch to a fun dinner.
Brad's new thing is to be a ham in all the pictures he is in.
It was a great way to wrap up Spring Break.
