Last day of school...First day of summer break

There is no better way to celebrate summer than to do a bit of fishing. The Shields invited us to the dam to celebrate Carter's birthday. We of course joined in the fun.

Randy was trying to teach Claire how to cast. It was an intense lesson. It took several casts and I am not entirely sure she ever really got the hang of it.

Welcome Summer!!!

Last Day of School 5-29-2015

Park Elementary had their awards assembly on the last day of school. Randy and Nate got to recognize the kids who earned the Hope of America Award for the Logan Kiwanis club again this year.

This year it was given to a couple of kids from our ward so it was very rewarding watching them receive their award.

Olivia Kidd and Cole Corbridge are both in our ward.

Brad was sad to say goodbye to Ms. Clark. He couldn't have had a better teacher! She was a great fit for Brad this year. She is amazing and we love her! She helped Brad with his first year of hearing aids, and helped him learn to love school again. It was a very big year for Brad learning how to cope with his diagnoses.

The last day the 5th grade kids got to present their History Fair Projects. It was so cute to see all of them in their costumes. I'm going to miss these kids. It has been so fun to be their room mom all year. They are all going to be little Middle Schoolers next year.

Brad did his project on Thomas Edison.

Claire cried at the end of the day. She was sad to see the year end with Ms. Seanshang. She loved her so much. She was also instrumental in helping Claire transition with bumping up a grade. She was so great to work with.

Claire and Lyndsee both have Mrs. House next year. They are so excited to have the same teacher for 3rd grade.

Girls Day/ Memorial Day

We were going to go camping over Memorial Day Weekend. We had to cancel our trip because it has been raining everyday this spring. Everything is so wet and muddy. Randy and I didn't want to sit in the trailer all weekend so we opted to stay home and do yard-work and just get caught up on life in general. We have been burning the candle at both ends.

Monday afternoon Melissa and I decided to do some girly stuff with Claire.

We went and got pedicures.

Then we went to lunch at Cafe Rio.
It was a much needed girls day out. I love spending one on one time with Claire.

Sunday's in the Country 5-2015

It is warm enough to walk to church.

It took a while. We made a lot of stops along the way.

Thanks for the lovely weeds H.

Sundays are my favorite day.

Sewing Machine

Randy has been pressuring me to learn how to sew for years. I've been putting it off forever.

The YW did an activity where we had to sew. My young woman were awesome at sewing and were so cute giving me a quick sewing 101 since I have never sewn anything my whole life.

The day after that activity I finally caved and bought a sewing machine. I was determined to learn to sew.
My fist project was a skirt I made for claire. It was pretty simple and not bad.

My next project was transforming a tie into a bow-tie.

It was fun to do and I thought I did a pretty dang good job.

I kinda like sewing...and I kinda like this boy wearing the bow-tie.

My Birthday 5-19-2015

My birthday this year was less than exciting. I got a really bad cold that turned into pneumonia, bronchitis, sinus and ear infections.

I wasn't up for any kind of celebration. I had to postpone my birthday altogether. All I wanted was my bed and cough medicine.

I did get a few visits from my good friends that brought me just what I needed to feel better.
Randy's dad even brought me a chocolate donut when he found out I was sick on my birthday.
Happy 35th to me...I'm halfway to my forties.

Mother's Day

Claire got her traditional flowers from her daddy. She is going to make a great mom one day.

I got breakfast and showered with cards from my kids. It was all so sweet.

Randy got me these beautiful flowers with a wonderful card and money to buy some new clothes.

The day was absolutely perfect in every way. I feel blessed to be the one chosen to raise my children. I hope I do it justice.
