Weekend in Salt Lake

The kids and I went to Salt Lake this last weekend. Randy rented a tractor to dig our our RV pad so we decided to take off while he was busy working.

On Saturday we went to my mom's Gailey family reunion. My uncle Mike rented out a whole snow cone truck after lunch. It was a fun and cute idea. We all got unlimited snow cones and flavors. We then listened to a recording of my Grandpa Gailey's voice. He was speaking at a youth fireside about his gunshot accident. It was good to hear his voice again.

Saturday night Kirsten agreed to babysit and I went to dinner with my parents and Eric and Natalie. I must have needed a night out because I had a TON of fun. We went to the Pie Pizzeria. They had a live band that was amazing. Eric and I probably made a fool out of ourselves because we sang along with every song. The loud music was driving my mom crazy. It was just like old times!

We promised the kids a movie night party if they were good while we were gone. We bought a bunch of junk food laid out a bunch of blankets at grandma's and we watched a movie until midnight. Even Harrison got to stay up late.

Sunday my dad smoked an amazing beef brisket. Kari, Steven, Aaron and Lisa came over for dinner. We relaxed ate and played card games.

On Monday Natalie and I braved Seven Peaks. I didn't have my camera with me so Rochelle snapped the only picture of the day. The kids stopped just long enough to eat lunch.

We drove straight home after the water park. We were pooped from the jam packed weekend. Plus we really missed Randy.

Softball Scare...

Randy and I are playing on a co-ed softball team and Randy had a small scare the other night. He and another player were running for the same pop fly and hit heads. It knocked Randy right to the ground. I was playing outfield and my heart sank. He didn't get up and he was feeling his head. I ran over to him as fast as I could. I was just sick... all that I could think about was last years accident (in case you forgot)!!!

Luckily it was just a minor cut that needed a bit of medical glue. I wish he didn't love baseball so much. It makes me crazy!!!!

Willow Park Zoo

We still go to a park with our friends every Tuesday with a group of people in the neighborhood. We always have a great turn out and it gives the kids a chance to all play together and the mom's a chance to get away form dishes, laundry, and house cleaning for a few hours every week. I love chatting and catching up with our friends.

We went to Willow Park Zoo a few weeks ago.

It is a pretty small zoo with a couple of animals so it is not impressive compared to Hogle Zoo but Harrison didn't know any better. He was LOVING it. He was mimicking the birds and pointing out every animal he could see.

Tori came with and had to hoist Harrison up at every fence so he could get a better peek.

He loved feeding the fish in the pond. When we tried to leave the pond he ran over to the next group of people waiting to feed the fish and tried to do it again.

BTW...My parents just got back from Hawaii a few weeks ago and gave Brad this shirt. Brad loves it and wants to wear it every single day. I think it makes him look like a little old man. It makes me laugh. He looks like my dad!!!!

Peter Sinks

A few weeks ago we went camping up Peter Sinks Road in Logan Canyon with some friends.

The camp site was amazing. We were surrounded by hundreds of  pine trees. We were in shade the whole time.

The kids took no time at all building a fort between the trees. By the end of the trip they had quite the set up.

Wyatt and Tiger were allowed to use the girls broom to sweep up the fort. The entire campsite had been swept by the kids.

One of the nights we had a HUGE bonfire. The first night we just had one fire and we got cold because we were sitting so far away from the fire. The boys built another pit and joined the two together with a HUGE log. This picture doesn't do it justice. We stayed warm after this fire.

We took a group picture with Melissa, Todd, Matt and Tori. After the picture was taken we gave Todd a hard time because Melissa is the only one not leaning into her husband. It was funny!! He wanted to take the picture over but we wouldn't let him. We got a good laugh out of it. It doesn't take much to get us laughing, we are a pretty easy crowd.

The Nelson's were camping with us and Jason had a small dirt bike that Claire could ride. With a few small instructions from Randy she was off and riding in no time. She was a natural.

The kids were filthy!!! I was so grateful to have a tub in the trailer to hose them off every night before putting them in bed. The next day it only took 5 minutes to get dirty again. They had a riot.

Harrison mugging on Matt and Tori.

Cute kids!!

Todd carved a stick for Harrison that he carried around the entire weekend.

We bought a small picnic table at Sam's Club right before this trip. Harrison loved it. I think it made him feel like a big boy.

Yes that is dirt all over her face and hands...no i didn't make her wash them before eating.

Brad had quite a few kids his age to run around with. We barely heard a peep from him all weekend. he was on his dirt bike most of the time.

One of the nights we had a BBQ and everyone brought their own meat to grill. We had hot dogs...good thing Todd brought a bunch of steaks to throw on the grill. I am pretty sure he brought them to eat himself but was  bombarded by Fischers "testing the meat".

It was such a fun camping weekend.

Summer swimming

We are in full summer mode!!! I can't believe how fast time is flying. We have spent several days in our little pool. This was one of the first times filling it up this summer and there have been several since. The Haw's came over to enjoy the sun too. It was nice to sit and chat with Trish. Tori was over too in her lawn chair and book. I am LOVING the summer!!

After the kids had enough of the water they huddled under their fort to stay warm. We could hear them chatting and giggling.

Bring on the HOT weather. We are ready.

ZIONS BANK- Paint a Thon

Randy helped plan this years annual paint-a-thon for Zions Bank in Logan. The bank chose a home in Millville. We took the kids to help scrape all the old paint off the house. They were very willing to help since they got a cool t-shirt and pizza. We only helped on the first day but Randy was there for 3 days helping.

It was fun to watch my kids get excited about serving someone else. we did it last year too and had fun.

The end result was pretty dang good. It is amazing what a little paint and hard work can do.

Random Cell Phone Pics

I have such a bad phone so these pictures aren't great but they are attached to some great memories that I don't want to forget.

A few weeks ago on a night I had to work I picked up a pizza and we met Randy at the park. Harrison was loving the piece I gave him. He carried it all around the park.

His cute little face was covered in pizza sauce.

The Millers across the street were making mud pies for a homework assignment.  Harrison joined right in. He was covered head to toe in mud. He also was covered in yellow pollen from picking dandelions and rubbing them on his face as he sniffed them. I had to take a picture. And it doesn't even do it justice how dirty he really was.

Claire got to be in the Smithfield Health Day's Parade for her dance company. I took Brad and Harrison with me to see her.

Harrison was a bit nervous at first. Brad was right by his side keeping him safe and coaching him on the proper way to get candy....wave and scream!!

Miss Claire throwing candy from the float.

My birthday fell on a Sunday and Randy had church meetings in the morning. He woke up the kids early to make me birthday breakfast. I caught them in the act and had to take a picture.

Brad made me egg whites all by himself. I was impressed that he knew how to separate the yolks from the whites. He does pay attention sometimes. I also love the side of parade candy for dessert.

Some of my favorite moments with Harrison are early in the morning when he first wakes up. He loves to snuggle and cuddle Randy and I. Sometimes he will fall back asleep for a little bit. I love having that one on one time with him. Once his brother and sister wake up the rest of the day is chaos.

Summer is here so we started our neighborhood park day. We had a great turn out. It was fun to be out of school and hanging out with all our friends.

Harrison is at a fun age where he is discovering playgrounds. I was impressed with how brave he was.

I got this note from Brad after we had been arguing and I was feeling particularly frustrated. He could tell so he wrote me this very sincere note. It melted my heart right away.

It makes all the hard work of parenting seem easier!!!
