Christmas Day 2014

Luckily for us the kids slept until about 8:00. We even got them to get in bed with us for a few minutes. They finaly dragged us out of bed. We wrote our traditional letters to the savior and put our gifts to him under the tree. Then we watched a video about the true meaning of Christmas that the church put out. It was a very sweet and tender moment. We were all in tears. We then had a small testimony meeting with just us. I love my kiddos and our family.

We then headed downstairs to see if Santa made it. He left a gift for H and letters for Brad and Claire thanking them for donating their Santa gift to someone in need. They were pretty excited about getting a real letter from Santa with his real signature.

Harrison was more interested in stomping the plastic bubble wrap. We spent several minutes making sure that he stomped all of them.

Then it was paper flying.

We got Brad waiters. He was so excited that he got to get in the water to help retrieve the decoys rather than sit in the duck boat.

Claire got a Barbie house and lots of Barbies.

H got an imaginext city with trucks and helicopters. He also got a wiggle car.

Randy and I were kicking ourselves that we didn't set up the Barbie house beforehand. It took us hours on Christmas morning. Holy cow what a mess. Lesson learned.

We have had a very dry and mild winter this year. We were thrilled that a big storm came Christmas morning. We got about 8 inches.

My parents got us an outdoor oil-less turkey fryer for Christmas so I wanted to cook a turkey for dinner. I brined it for 24hrs.

While we waited for the turkey Randy helped Brad mount his turkey feathers.

We could smell the amazing turkey outside. Yummy!

He was so excited about his spread.

Finally the turkey was done and ready to rest. It was the BEST turkey I have ever made. It was so moist and flavorfull. I love our new toy.

The rest of the afternoon we played with toys and games and stayed in our PJ's most of the day. I slowly got ready for dinner with family and friends.

Kamie and Jenni came over early to help me pull dinner together. Cute little Caden was so good to snooze and hang out.

The kids played and played.

Blakelee was ready for dinner.

Nate and Jenni got Brad a duck call for Christmas. That is all we heard the rest of the night.

Brad got a magic kit from Lance and Kendra. It was one of his favorite toys. He showed everyone that would give him the time of day a new magic trick. Even during dinner he was walking around showing his magic.

Christmas dinner was so fun and so delicious.

It was a great day full of celebrating the birth of our Saviour, family, play, great food and fun.
