Fischer Family Pictures

Kendra took some much needed pictues of our family this summer. The last family picture I have is from Matt and Tori's wedding. It was long overdue.

Little things I forgot to blog about this summer...

**While Kamie is still working in Salt Lake on the weekends we get to have Reagan occasionally. These two kiddos crack me up. They have such a love hate relationship.

Reagan is picking out the blueberries to eat and Harrison is picking out the blueberries because he doesn't like them. They are so different in every way.

I had her overnight a few weeks ago and she came with me to swimming lessons. I had to pin her on my lap because I was terrified she was going to jump in the pool. She was so mad at me. She would wave her finger in my face and say "Jenny...NO!" over and over again. She was determined to get out of my grip. When yelling at me didn't work she started pinching my chin. She was desperate to get down. She didn't give up the whole time.

**We have still been enjoying Tuesday park day with the neighborhood kids. We went to the Trenton park and all the kids were fascinated by the merry go round. they didn't care at all about the other part of the playground. There was a puddle of mud along the bottom so a bunch of kids went home with muddy bums.

**Matt and Tori agreed to baby-sit for us so we could go to the Utah Opera Festival Gala. Dinner was amazing and then we got to go to Fiddler on the Roof.

While we were gone the kids got to go see a movie, eat pizza and have a video game night. Talk about a dream night for the kids.

We picked them up really late so Tori put them to bed for me. They got to spend the night with Matt's elk spike.

**I sent the kids out one morning to pick strawberries. They didn't come in for a while so I peeked out the back window and caught them in a rare moment getting along.

They were eating the strawberries as fast as they were picking them. I could have watched them all day. Too bad it only lasted about 20 minutes.

** Randy has played in billions of golf tournaments this summer. He always sends us random pics of his golfing days.

He even got invited to Park City to golf with Senator Orrin Hatch all day. He was trying to convince Randy to work for him in Washington DC as a lobbyist.

**This summer has been a huge baseball season. Claire played T-ball, brad played baseball and Randy and I played on a Coed softball team. It made for a really hectic schedule!!! We had games almost every night.

Lance and Kendra came up for some of Brad's games. Randy's family is so supportive and we love it. Randy's parents came to almost all of the games. They drove all the way from salt lake every week.

Claire started T-ball this year. She has been dying to play like her big brother. She was good. She did get frustrated with the Tee since she is so used to being pitched to at home. It took a little adjustment.

This is the coed team we played with. Matt and Tori put it together and Todd's company sponsored the team. We wore Titensor Construction shirts. I loved playing. I have not played since High School. Randy and I barely got to play at the end of the season. We were always at our kids games and I broke my toe at the end of the season. So sad!!

** In July Randy and I had the opportunity to go to Martin's Cove with the youth in our stake. We went as Aunt and Uncles. We loved our group of kids. We had a riot. We bonded instantly and felt the spirit so strong there.

We each had a sign from a game we played. When people would take our picture we would flash our sign. We had some great laughs and even more great spiritual moments with these kids.

Thanks to Kamie for taking our kids for a couple of crazy days so we could go!!!

Reimann Weekend in Logan

Every year my family comes up to Cache Valley to spend the weekend. We had to cancel this year because my Grandpa Reimann passed away.

Steven and Kari wanted to still come up and spend some time with our family. I am so glad they did. I loved every minute with them. I haven't seen them in a long time.

The night they got there we stayed up way too late and chatted and laughed.

The next morning they went on a bike ride with Kari's brother that lives a few blocks away.
When they came back we ate some really yummy Tai peanut noodles. (I love Steven and Kari... they are always up to trying my exotic food adventures.)

Then we had a full on water fight in the yard.

When the water guns were just not enough they pulled out the hose.

Then when the hose was not enough they went for the pool.

After we got cleaned up and showered we took the kids to see Despicable Me 2. The kids liked it but all the adults were dozing off and on. We are just getting too old.

That night we got a babysitter and went to Takaras for some yummy sushi.

The next day after dinner Kari and Steven headed home. I was sad they left but was glad I was going to spend time with them the next week.

Salt Lake in 12 hours

Randy had a work meeting in Salt Lake on a weekday.  He had to borrow Matt and Tori's car because our old reliable red rusty Civic finally bit the dust. Tori was planning on spending the weekend with her family in Salt Lake for the weekend. She called me at work so we could try to car pool down to salt lake the next morning so I could pick up Randy and Tori could have her car back.

I had to work a graveyard shift so Tori was my chauffeur. There was no way I could have driven myself, I was so tired.

Since Randy was in meetings we took the kids to the new Natural History Museum. Tori took her 4th grade class on a field trip there and thought Brad would love it. She was right. It was AMAZING!!
I was so impressed. The new building was so beautiful and creative.

I was shocked at how many dinosaur bones Utah owns. I was also surprised at how big they actually were. I guess I pictured them much smaller in my head.

They had really cool displays under glass floors. It felt weird to walk across them. Harrison took one step on the glass and it totally freaked him out. He wanted to be carried across. There was no way to convince him it was safe.

The kids were engrossed with all the hands on exhibits. They loved touching everything. They even had smell buttons to see what things might have smelled like. Sensory overload.

Even though Harrison didn't understand a word from the information phones he still acted like he was very interested in the fun facts.

The top of the building had a weather exhibit. You could see across the whole valley from the balcony. It was stunning.  It made me miss Salt Lake for a very brief moment. Then I got over it really fast. I love Cache Valley WAY too much.

One of my favorite parts was the natural disaster exhibit. they had some really cool stuff from recent natural disasters. I guess it hit me because it was stuff from my generation. It hit home. I will never forget some those feelings of panic.

After we fueled our brains we had to feed out bellies. We were hungry. Tori took us to her old stomping grounds during High School. We ate at Shivers. She said she used to hang out there all the time and order their yummy fries and shakes.

The kids loved eating in the train. Brad is almost to the age where things like this are no longer "cool". I was happy to see that he still wanted to sit in the train to eat.

After ice-cream we stopped at Dr. Shakula's office. Harrison had a fever all day so I wanted to make sure he didn't have an ear infection. Thank goodness he didn't. I really didn't want to deal with ear problems again. Knock on wood but so far this summer we have not had one ear infection.

Then we stopped at a couple of DI's looking for Harry Potter books for Tori's classroom.

By the end of the day I was pooped and ready to go home. But,  totally worth the quick trip.

Fischer Family Reunion-- Logan Canyon Camp Jebo

For our Fischer family reunion we took all our trailers up Logan canyon. Not a single one of us brought a camera to this trip!!! So this entire post is made up of our crappy cell phone pictures so bear with me!!!

Randy and I went up one night early to try to get a good spot. By the time we got up there it was dark and we were unfamiliar with the road. Randy pulled Brad's motorcycle off the back of the trailer so he could drive around a bit and scope out a spot to camp. The spot he found was up the road a couple of miles. Brad had to ride the motorcycle up the road so Randy could bring the trailer. It was pitch dark and a HUGE thunder storm was rolling in. Lightning was striking all around us. It was so loud and close it made the hair on my arms stand up. Poor Brad was getting soaked in the rain and was so distracted by all the lightning. It was a rough ride up the road.

The next day the rest of the family joined us.

Harrison was entertained by the dirt. He was covered from head to toe every day.

Claire and Brad spent some time in Nanny and Papa's trailer doing crafts Nanny brought up.

Reagan was a filthy mess too. She loved to eat the dirt so she constantly had a dirty face.

Cute little Kailee loved camping. She loves to be outside. Randy and I fought over holding her!!! I just love her smiles.

Kamie and I took Harrison, Claire and Reagan on a small hike. It was just barely down the road but it took forever to keep the babies on task and moving.

Tim snapped this great picture of Claire with his phone. She had no idea her hair was such a mess. I showed her this picture and she got embarrassed. I love it.

We had a camp fire every night. Harrison's cheesy smore smile.

Lounging with Uncle Matt

All the boys played a "throw sticks at each other" game. The rules are...throw sticks at each other. Who knew that such an immature game could entertain grown up men.

King of the stump!!!

Rudy and Jack got mauled by Claire the whole trip.

Enjoying some more s'mores.

Reagan dissected her s'more.

The boys spent a significant amount of time shooting Brad's BB gun and empty cans. Even Papa was entertained.

Dragging Harrison into the trailer to take a nap. He was not happy with me.

The trip was SOOOO relaxing and just what we needed. We would have stayed another week if we could have.
